 Interfaith Hospitality Network   Interfaith & Hospitality Network

The Interfaith Hospitality Network program brings shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes and Brainerd Church of the Nazarene has committed to be a part of the this important ministry.  If you have any question or would like to sign up to help with this ministry please contact Elaine Hardy or Patience Filkins.

Set Up
Sunday 1 pm to 3 pm, 4-6 people.  
Set up cots and other items in guest rooms and dining/common areas.



Transportation Crew
Two Shifts: Morning 7am - 8:30 am or Evening 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
1-3 people per day.
Transport families between Day Center and church in Day Center vans or personal vehicles.  No special license needed.



Evening Host
4:30 pm - 7:00 pm, 1 person each night
Unlock doors, greet guests and give tours to new families.
Instruct guests regarding supper and evening activities
Assist with food prep as needed.



Dinner Crew
4:30 pm - 7:00 pm, 2 people each night (also need 1 hot breakfast)
Bring or prepare meal, set tables and serve
Eat with guest, clean up



Activities Crew
7:00 pm - 9:00pm, 1-2 people each night, depending on activity.
Lead or assist with activity
Clean up activity area



Overnight Hosts
9:00 pm - 9:00 am, 1 couple each night
Secure building for the night, be available to guests as needed
Provide a wake-up knock if necessary
Set out breakfast at 7:00 am (cereal most days)
Help Families prepare bag lunches to take with them.



Take Down Crew
Sunday, 7:00 am - 9:00 am, 2-3 people
Take down cots and put in IHN trailer.
Move other items from rooms to storage
Gather and wash lines



Supply Assistant(s)
Keep necessary items in stock (sheets, toiletries, ect.)



Donations Assistant(s)
Assist in collecting and distributing donations (clothing, furniture, household, ect)
